How to Avoid a Fitness Scam. My Experience with a Fitness Fraud in Seattle

The first time I went into a gym I went with a friend. The 587th time I went into a gym I could move more weight than any of my friends.

However if you are a self proclaimed “gym bae” like myself; you know that just being able to move weight isn’t the same as being able to control the weight.

For this reason I sought out professional training services. I used to be the kind of person that thought trainers were leeches. Always on the prowl in the gym looking for some stay at home mom with deep pockets.

While this does happen, I have seen it first hand. I told that internal critic to take a nap and I started training.

I spent a lot of money and gained a lot of knowledge.

My first trainer was my uncle, and he did not give me a discount at all. But he gave me a solid foundation, and I am ever grateful.

When the pandemic hit I tried working out at home, but soon began to enjoy day drinking much more.

I gained a bit of weight.

By 2022 the weight was gone, I moved across the country to Seattle and I found the gym scene to be a bit sketchy.

They don’t have very luxurious gyms in Seattle. Even the nicer ones could use a bit…
