Writers that sell to writers, on how to write for money are pimps.

I joined medium last year to write. Connecting with my inner child. Letting her voice travel all over the world by writing about things I love.

Psychology, beauty and my life in the tech city of Seattle.

So I started to do just that.

The articles I began to read on Medium, or at least the ones the algorithm seemed to push to me were all about making 6 figures as a writer.

I noticed this trend, and I have to admit I clicked on the articles.

Desperate to escape the monotony of traditional 9–5’s and pretending I like my co-workers.

Desperate, is never the place to be.

I knew I wanted to just write, so I slowly began to ignored the fluff.

At first I tried to stick to topics that represented my niche, because that’s what the “cool writers” tell you to do.

More tips from the “cool writers”

  • Pick a niche
  • Use social media to build an audience
  • Create an email list
  • Sell to that email list
